BITCH performs with THOR at the Whisky a Go Go
On March 12, 2020, BITCH will share the stage with veteran heavy metal band THOR at The Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, CA. THOR is fronted by famed bodybuilder Jon Mikl Thor, and released their first LP, Keep The Dogs Away, in 1977. They are currently signed with Cleopatra Records' Dead Line imprint, and are touring to support a new album entitled Hammer of Justice (2019).
This is the first time that BITCH and THOR have ever perfromed together live. Betsy will also join Jon Mikl Thor to sing guest vocals during THOR's set.
Details on the show are at The Whisky a Go Go's website; tickets can be purchased here.
Betsy previously worked with THOR on the 2015 album Metal Avenger as one of a number of celebrity cameos on the album. Betsy and Jon Mikl Thor share vocals on two tracks on the album: the anthemic "Taste of Victory" and the ballad "Stars on Stars." She also sings backing vocals on "Master of Revenge" alongside Henry Rollins (Black Flag, Rollins Band).
Curt Remington joins Bitch on bass
Since 2014, Betsy has worked with a steady four-piece lineup that is directed by Detroit-based drummer Scandal West. This lineup of Bitch features Betsy on vocals, West on drums, and Chris Cardenas (of Rikki Rockett's solo band) on guitar. The lineup places a strong focus on Betsy's personality, and utilizes many lesser-known songs from the Bitch archives, including "You Want It, You Got It" from the Betsy (1988) album, "Black Candle" from the 1993 Project B demos, and the bonus track "Let's Go" from the 2011 Be My Slave/Damnation Alley reissue.
In September 2018, Curt Remington joined Bitch as their permanent bassist. Remington performs with West in the modern rock band Jetstar, and joined Bitch at West's invitation. Remington replaces long-running member Angelo Espino (Heretic, Anger As Art, Hirax, Once Dead), who was previously the only member of the 2010-2013 Anger As Art/All-Star Line-Up Mark II of Bitch who continued to work in the Scandal West-led lineup.
_________
Betsy Bitch is America's whip-cracking pioneer for women
in heavy rock music. She is best known as the lady frontman of the Los Angeles-based heavy metal band Bitch. Betsy
has also worked with veteran Sunset Strip metal band Witch, and
used to front the second-wave ska band The Boxboys.
Bitch
has the distinction of being the first woman-fronted American metal band
to ever be signed to a label, as well as the first band to release an album on
the legendary Metal Blade Records. Bitch would keep a steady profile throughout the eighties in the face of
consistent disdain for woman-fronted heavy bands, proving that women can rock
just as hard as their male counterparts.
This website is an information resource on Bitch and their pioneering singer, the amazing Betsy Bitch. The site features an extremely detailed Bitch Discography that chronicles every album and compilation that Bitch has ever appeared on, as well as a listing of Bitch member appearances on other albums outside of Bitch. Eventually we will publish a full Bitch Biography that will take you through the band's story; for now we have a sample of what's to come. We also have an obituary page to Robby Settles, co-founder of Bitch, who passed away after a year-long battle with leukemia on May 26, 2010. In the near future, we hope to include more information on The Boxboys as well.
